Using IMAP to Access Your AIM Mail Account: General Settings

1. Ascertain that your email client supports IMAP.
2. In the IMAP server field, type imap.aol.com.
3. For IMAP, enter your AOL Mail login name.
4. The IMAP password is your AOL password.
5. Check IMAP SSL/TLS required.
6. Enter 993 for IMAP.
7. For Outgoing Mail Server, type smtp.aol.com (SMTP).
8. Enter 465 for SMTP.
9. Finish your email application’s setup.

POP Access to Your AIM Mail Account: General Settings

POP access allows you to download all mail and store it locally on your computer.

To POP mail from AIM Mail into your email program:

1. Enter pop.aol.com for the POP server.
2. Enter your AOL email address as your username.
3. Enter your AOL POP password.
4. Check POP SSL/TLS required.
5. Enter 995 for POP.
6. For Outgoing Mail Server, enter smtp.aol.com (SMTP).
