STEP 1:  CUT THE FABRIC

Curtains are usually 54” (inches) wide you can even double this up to get a fuller look, cut them as close to this width as you want. As for the length, measure the length how long you want your cut, and add up to 8” to it for hems or else you’ll lose some good inches on your curtain.

STEP 2: HEM THE SIDES

I personally prefer a 1” hem and sew them double to avoid rough edges. Sew both sides.

STEP 3: ATTACH THE HEADING TAPE

Fold the fabric at the top of the cloth a little wider than the size of your header tape and the pin is, for a cleaner header make sure to hem the header before sewing it into the fabric.

STEP 4: ATTACH THE PLEAT HOOK

You can start attaching the hook from the edge and leave even gaps between each hook to get a pleated curtain.

STEP 5: HAND AND THEN MEASURE FOR THE BOTTOM HEM OF THE CURTAIN

Hang your curtain on the rod and measure the length up to 1/8th inch above the ground, measure and pin it there, and if you don’t want to pin while it is hanging measure and pin after taking it down. And then sew the hem after you measure precisely.

STEP 6: HANG THEM FOR GOOD

A perfect curtain looks beautiful after they are hung in a perfect way. Having clean folded curtains with rings makes it more elegant than the others. But before hanging them make sure you iron them properly.
